Harken Mark III Unit 4 Roller Furler. This is a large furling unit off of a 60’+ vessel.
It still functions. A few of the foils need to be recut, but are definitely serviceable.
Overhauled by Harken in 2013.
DESCRIPTION
Unfurl and trim safely from the cockpit when it’s windy or light.
ESP Furlers are designed for the daysailor and coastal cruiser looking for an easy-to-assemble furler with an elegant design. Trim safely from the cockpit when it blows, and unfurl instead of motoring when it’s light, for a great day of sailing.
Easy assembly and installation: Foils slip over the standard marine eye and headstay wire for easy installation. The adjustable bottom foil fine-tunes the system length. Shackle at the tack and head attach the sail to the furler, with sail shape controlled by halyard tension. No need to cut the headstay during installation.
Stands up to the elements: The drum is made from Hard Lube-anodized aluminum. Cover, flange and guard are glass-reinforced polymers for high strength. Foils are clear-coat anodized for durability. Stainless steel sail feeder is strong and durable.
Mainsail Reefing System – Approximate 45′
I purchased the wrong size and could not return with-in the 30day time frame. My mistake your gain at a 300+ dollar reduction off original price. This unit is NEW never put into service and not even put together, It’s still in the original mfg boxing.
MKIV furling systems are strong, lightweight and aerodynamic, with the performance and features Harken® is known for. Longevity, ease of use and simplicity of installation are crucial components of the design. These free-rolling furlers make all the difference in headsail control by allowing racers and cruisers to quickly furl and reef from the safety of the cockpit, while maintaining great sail shape and optimal speed.
Halyard Swivel Turns Freely Strong, lightweight halyard swivel reduces windage and weight aloft to minimize pitching and heeling. Stacked bearing races evenly distribute radial and thrust loads to ball bearings; foils turn freely under halyard loads. Independent halyard and tack swivels furl sail center before head and tack for improved sail shape and upwind pointing.
Drum Installs Over Existing Turnbuckle Units are adaptable to a variety of rigging options for easy installation. Harken toggle assembly accepts standard turnbuckle using swage, rod, Norseman® or Sta-Lok® terminals. Toggle flips for fork or tang chainplate installation. A single stainless steel clevis pin provides access to the turnbuckle for adjustment.
Stainless Steel Feeder Stainless steel feeder allows fast singlehanded hoist and quick sail changes.
Removable Split Drum Line guard and spool come off easily for racing.
